I had the privilege of working at Ibotta for the last 4 years.
When I was looking for a new company I found Ibotta on the Built In Colorado website, a site that features mostly Denver and Boulder-area start-ups. One of the nice features of that website is that they list the perks and benefits of each of the companies that list on that site. I knew that when I saw the list Ibotta had, I would be treated well.
I worked on 4 different teams during my time at Ibotta, first as a Senior Platform Engineer and then as a Staff Platform Engineer. Compared to any other software company I’ve worked for, I found Ibotta’s culture to be unmatched. How many companies do you know that have their own in-house band??
Most of my time at Ibotta was spent working in the Affiliate Retailer space trying to forever answer the question: “why didn’t I get my cash back?” For those who are interested, there are about 1 million different reasons that could happen, which definitely created a challenging and often frustrating problem space.
Everyone knows it’s the people that make the job. The crew in the picture at the top of this post is definitely one of the most talented, hilarious, and caring groups of individuals that I’ve ever worked with. They are a big part of what made my job great and I am delighted to call them all friends.
