Week #11 ~ Recap

4,055 miles, 1 state, 2 countries, 1 TransAtlantic flight, 2 old friends, 11 family members, and $728.26 OVER budget.

Notice a trend?  Major budget diversions include about ~$500 in lodging reservations and $712 in travel insurance for Western Europe.  Two items that are not included in this overspend are new tires for the car and a vet visit for the cats back in Denver.

Week 11 found us transitioning to the Western Europe part of our trip.  We left Dulles International Airport on Wednesday evening and arrived in Copenhagen, Denmark around noon on Thursday, Copenhagen time (~ 4 a.m. Mountain Time).  Our travel weeks for tracking purposes go from Friday – Thursday (because we started on Friday, June 30th).

Our week in Virginia was restorative and gave us the financial space to purchase some clothing and take care of some other necessities before we left the country.  It also gave us the opportunity to remove everything from our car and prepare it for storage at Erin’s parents’ house for the next 6 months.  Between preparing to leave for a long time and trying to spend quality time with as many people as possible for leaving the country, it was a busy week!
