285 miles, 2 countries, 2 big cities, 1 Chunnel train, 2 friends from home, 1 West End show, 2 museums, 2 UNESCO World Heritage sites, 1 haircut, 12,000 steps per day average, and $161.98 UNDER budget.

Our count list from last week doesn’t seem very long until we think of the span of history influenced from those two locations. The two major cities of London and Paris were interesting from dawn ’til dusk. Walking between destinations was as much of a delight as touring the things contained within their city limits.
From the British Museum to the Louvre, we couldn’t have asked for a cooler or more internationally famous set of buildings. Sometimes we have to pinch ourselves to remember that this is US doing all of this!
We ticked off major and minor sites and activities in these two cities that are must-see items. So glad we did them and even more glad we’ve left ourselves lots of things to see another time.
We bought EuroRail passes last January, and come to find out the Eurostar train from London to Paris (a.k.a. The Chunnel) was covered! People describe the tunnel crossing as a “non-event”…..and we might agree. We were going 282 kilometers per hour (175 mph) a couple times. The whole trip only took 2 hours and 15 minutes! Crazy!!!!
Next week, Normandy and the start of our month of Italy!
