687 miles, 1 flight, 8 crazy tuk-tuk rides, 4 roof-top beers, 2 countries and their respective capitol cities, 2 temples, 1 bike ride, 2 street food suppers, 1 floating market, 1 railway market, 2 royal palaces, 350 steps up to our first Khmer ruins, 1 bamboo train ride, 2 long-tail boat rides, 2 sets of ancient ruins, 2 museums, 1 dessert soup, approximately 300 gallons of water drunk and sweated out ~ 262.82 UNDER budget.

What a week! We would not have believed you could do all of those things in 7 days, but with good drivers and knowledgeable guides it was easy.
The capitol of Thailand treated us right for our last three days in that friendly country, then we hopped a jet plane for Phnom Penh, the capitol city of Cambodia.
Phnom Penh was a little more challenging than Bangkok because it’s just a little warmer, a little more crowded, a little more noisy….but that is a story for another post. What we have found so far in Cambodia are guides who don’t shy away from a difficult recent history and pragmatically get on with living their lives.
We ended the week in Battambang, which has a slower pace and has been a nice respite from the big city.
Next week ~ Siem Reap and the ruins of Angkor Wat!
