This week included our last day of touring in Siem Reap, travel to Hanoi by plane and much driving from Hanoi to Ha Lan Bay for our cruise then from Lan Ha Bay to Pu Luong Nature preserve.
The cruise included some amazing scenery, a bike ride excursion and a visit to a cave that was pretty cool. We also had time to sit and chat with fellow cruisers & met a couple of wonderful people who we hope to keep in touch with. Shout out to Patty and Marcus from Vancouver and sisters Jade and Denny from Auckland, NZ!
Pu Luong Nature preserve has been about as beautiful as anything you could imagine. The vibe here is restful, with a little rain/fog/mist most days. We are staying in a bungalow at a “home stay”, but it really just feels like a very awesome hotel that only has about 10 rooms. A couple of tour groups have come through bringing 20 or so people and their noise, but mostly it’s been a few quiet folks just relaxing and enjoying the natural beauty of the area. We probably won’t write a separate post about Pu Luong because we’ve been so chill there isn’t much to tell!
The best part about coming to this part of Vietnam has been the weather. Mostly cool and not as humid as Cambodia or Thailand. This weather has made us glad we still have our jackets from when we left Denver and it was minus whatever it was.
The time in SE Asia is flying by ~ it’s hard to believe we’ve already been here a month & only have three weeks left!
